How Do I.....Re-Assign Payers on an Invoice?

     

Re-Assigning payer is used after claims have been sent to a payer and then additional information is provided that indicates the claim should have been sent to a different payer.

   

For Example: Commercial Insurance is provided, however, the transport was due to an Auto Accident. This should be billed to the Auto Insurance instead of Health Insurance.

   

For Example: No Insurance information was provided, so patient received the statement with payment due. They then call to provide insurance information.

   

Re-Assign Payers is available from the Claims Edit page. The Claims Edit page can be accessed from Account Inquiry or A/R Management Detail.

   

To Access Claims Edit from Account Inquiry

Navigate to A/R Mgmt -> Account Inquiry.

   

Filter Account Inquiry for the invoice.

   

   

Use the Action Item List and select View Invoice.

   

     

To access Claims Edit from A/R Management Detail

   

Navigate to A/R Mgmt -> A/R Management -> Detail

   

Filter A/R Management for the invoice. Click to open Claims Edit.

   

   

   

Re-Assign Payer from Claims Edit

   

Click Re-Assign Payer(s) from the bottom of the Claims Edit.

   

   

Select the payers in the new order and click Reassign.

   

   

Make changes to the invoice as needed and click Batch & Close to send invoice to Batch Processing.

   

   

The original invoice will now be cancelled and the new invoice will be in Billing Verification or Batch Processing.
