Billing Verification

Navigate to: Finance -> Billing Verification

   

Billing Verification Overview

   

Billing Verification holds the invoices that are almost ready to be sent to the payer. Changes to the invoice can be made prior to send to Batch Processing.

   

The Billing Verification Page can be filtered by Service Date, Patient, Medical Necessity Score (0-5), Patient Name, Call #, Policy #, Previous Claim Billed, PCS on File, Pre-Auth, Signature on File, Show Expired Holds Only, Assigned to User, Run Disposition, Run Type, Transport To, Payer, Ordering Facility, Provider, Hold Reason, Bill Record Tag, Invoice Tag and/or Invoice Status.

   

   

Records in Change Management: Shows the number of records in Change Management. Click on the Number to navigate to Change Management.

   

Billing Verification Details

Billing Verification holds the invoices that are almost ready to be sent to the payer. Changes to the invoice can be made prior to send to Batch Processing.

Service Date: Service Date of the invoice.

   

Call #: Call # for the invoice

   

Run Type: Run Type for the invoice

   

Patient Name: Patient Name

   

PCS: Indicator (Y/N) of if the patient has the Physician Certification Statement.

   

MN: Indicator (Y/N) of if the call was calculated as Medically Necessary

   

P-A: Indicator (Y/N) if the patient has a Prior-Authorization.

   

Sig: Indicator (Y/N) if the Patient has a Signature on File.

   

DSL: Dispatched Service Level.

   

RSL: Recommended Service Level as calculated for the ePCR and included on the Invoice.

   

Miles: Miles to be billed on the invoice

   

Deductible: Remaining Deductible from Patient Information.

   

Claim: Claim Status. Invoice can be placed on Hold if other information is needed.

   

Comment: Invoice/Bill Record Comments.

   

  : Opens the invoice to make edits. Click HERE for information Claims Edit

Action Item List

The Action Item List is available for all Invoices. Click to use the Action Item list.

View Patient Information: Opens Patient Information page.

View Bill Record: Opens the Bill Record page. Click HERE for more information on Bill Records.

View CAD Data: Opens the CAD Data page that is associated with this call.

View Eligibility History: View the Eligibility History for the call. This will only be enabled if the agency is contracted with Zirmed for eligibility checks.

Show Attachments: Shows documents that have been attached to the ePCR.

Manage Bill Record Tags: Add/Edit/View Tags for this bill record. Tags are ways to group bill records.

Manage Invoices Tags: Add/Edit/View Tags for this invoice. Tags are ways to group bill records.

Attach Patient Document: Attach Document to a Patient.

Add Prior Auth Request: Add Prior Auth Request for this invoice.

Add Correspondence: Add Correspondence will allow for adding a correspondence with the patient regarding this call.

Search Contact: Shows all correspondence added for this call and allow for searching these correspondences.

   

Open Billing Review: Opens the Billing Review report for this call.

   

Open eCPR: Opens the Prehospital Care Report Summary for this call.

   

Open for Edit: Opens the ePCR and allow for edits.

   

Request for Information: Opens the Request for Information report to be sent to the patient to obtain more information regarding insurances.

   

Open Links: Opens the General Payer Verification Links page. These links have been previously setup under Setup -> RevNet -> External Links

   

Filter to Current Patient: Will search the Billing Verification Page for other Invoices for this Patient.

   

Add Task: Allows for a task to be added and assigned to a HealthEMS User.

   

Send Message: Opens Add Message page to send a myMessage to a HealthEMS user.

   

Send Back to Payer Verification: Sends the bill record back to Payer Verification. The invoice is removed.

   

Undo Balance Forward: Will Undo the most current Balance Forward that has been completed for this call. Balance Forward will be discussed in the AR Management -> Cash Receipts section of the User Guide.

Reprint Prior Approval Form: For New York Agencies, will reprint Prior Approval Form.

Do Not Bill: Marks the Bill Record as Do Not Bill.

   

View/Update Invoice - Claims Edit

Click to open the invoice to make edits. Click HERE for information Claims Edit

Update Status

To update status the status of an invoice, click in line and select the updated status. Press [Enter] on the keyboard to save the change. Default Statuses include Ready to Bill. In addition, Hold Reasons added for Billing Verification will also be displayed. Click HERE for more information on Hold Reasons.

Reassign Billing Verification Bill Records

To reassign invoices to another agency user, check the boxes next to the invoices, select the new user from the Reassign To: Drop Down List.
